Dental care treatments have become necessary for millions of people all across the country. Even though there have been countless of advancements and improvements in dental health and care, many people are still being afflicted by tooth decay and gum diseases. Not long ago, the only solutions for people, who were missing their teeth, were fixing dentures and bridges,
A modern solution
However, modern dental care now includes advanced dental implants that can serve as perfect replacements for teeth roots. A dental implant can support one or some artificial teeth. An implant such as that is a titanium-made screw, which is fixed into the jawbone root. Its purpose is to provide a strong base or foundation on which permanent or removable teeth can be fixed, to match natural teeth.
If you live in New Jersey, you can rest easy knowing that it is home to a vast number of professional dental care offices, where you can find high-quality dental implants. The following are just some of the benefits of getting Dental Implants in NJ.
First and foremost, you will have a much easier time eating and chewing food. Keep in mind that dentures do not always perfectly fit. When chewing food, they can become less fitting and prone to slipping out. However, with dental implants, you will not have these issues.
Improved aesthetic appearance
Dental implants are primarily designed so that they perfectly fuse with the jawbone. Thanks to their features, they look and feel just like natural teeth.
Improved oral health
Modern dental implants do not require any other teeth to be adjusted; This means no harm or damage will be made to the natural teeth, thus substantially improving dental hygiene and health in the long run.
Standard dentures can often cause people to mumble and slur. Dental implants, on the other hand, do not slip, which means you will not have any problems with communication and speech.
Improved self-esteem and confidence
A dental implant will bring back a smile on your face again, and that smile will bring back your self-esteem and confidence.
What is the procedure?
The majority of dental implant procedures can be safely performed, under local anesthesia. Somewhat more complicated and complex procedures may require intravenous sedation and hospitalization. Dental implant procedures can differ from one another, mainly because they involve the requirements of the situation, the dental surgeon’s experience, and your personal preferences.
The procedure itself is conducted in 3 steps
- This step begins by placing the dental plate flush into the gum. This is important because it needs to protect the implant from the force and give time for healing. After the healing period, the gum that covers the implant is removed, so as to expose the implant. This is, basically, an integration process, also known as Osseointegration.
- During the second step, the surgeon will examine the implant, in order to check if the integration is successful. Once that is finished, he/she will place a post, which is drilled through the gum. Once the area around the gum starts healing, it will form a collar, which will give the dentist an access to the implant, while he/she places the artificial tooth.
- The last step involves the fabrication and the fixing of the artificial tooth into the integrated dental implant. With this step, the entire procedure is over, and your short recovery period begins.
